A. Almost everybody with a garden, or piece of land can have a borehole.
A. No, as detailed in the Water Act of 2003 anyone is allowed to extract up to 20 000 litres per day without licence or charge. If you wish to extract more than this, you will need to obtain an Abstraction Licence from the Environment Agency.
A. No, the drilling rig we use is the preferred method of drilling by the Environment Agency because of its low environmental impact.
A. No; and be wary of any company offering a guarantee! The water table is by its nature, impossible to guarantee. The BGS survey does, however, provide a very reliable indication of location and depth. In the unlikely event that we do not find water on your site, we will charge you only for the drilling time.
A. Usually; however, it can contain dissolved minerals or contamination. We will have the water tested by an accredited laboratory that will indicate the content of the water.
A. We will subsequently provide and install a filtration unit to make the water drinkable and ready for you to enjoy.
A. Each borehole is different and therefore we cannot provide a set price for a borehole. We have prepared an estimated breakdown of the cost of borehole. Quotes vary depending on the use of the borehole (drinking water/irrigation etc) and the type of ground to be drilled through.
A. Probably not, we can breakdown the drilling rig to pass through a standard doorway if required; this can be discussed during a site visit.
A. The Borehole is covered by a custom designed cover, much like a drainage cover.
